Re: Sunglasses on the Course?
I've been so busy I forgot to post my review of the Oakley Flak Jackets. I've borrowed them from a friend so I already knew I'd like them. The frames are light and comfortable and VERY durable. When removing the lenses, the frame must be flexed and after fumbling with it the first time, I flexed it quite a bit. Didn't even look close to breaking or cracking. The frames also come with two sizes of nose pieces.
I have the Gold Iridium and G30 lenses. The Gold Iridium lenses are pretty good but I'm sure there are better ones out there. I use them for really bright conditions. They make the world look kind of like an old Sepia tinted photograph. Blues turn into gray-ish and shadows and treelines are more defined. It's much easier to track a ball in flight with this lens. This lens really cuts out glare and haziness.
The G30 lenses were specifically engineered for golf. They are a Rose base with a light-blue iridium coating on it. I personally don't like how they look aesthetically but for golf and cloudy days, they are excellent. Glare is reduced greatly and the color tint is perfect for reading greens. When I put these on, an dry brown spots on the green really pop out. The contour of the greens are easier to read as well. In fact, the color GREEN just looks much clearer and more defined. Definitely something to consider for golf.
There are variations of the G series. There is the G30 Black Iridium, which has a stronger Iridium coating and is a bit darker in tint. There is the G30 Persimmon which is lighter in tint. Then there's the G40 which is the transitions version. I would have got this one but I couldn't afford it at the time.

Overall, a great set. The lenses are so clear and easy on the eyes (no distortion aside from lens tint) and the frame is so comfortable, you can wear these anywhere, anytime. Even while putting.
Highly recommended.
